What does it mean to calibrate a smartphone?

If you find your device charges very fast (like 100% in one to two hours) and also ends up rapidly, then you have a battery calibration problem. This problem goes on repeating unless you do something it required. The reasons for miscalibration of battery may be several. But after calibrating it, we can expect best battery life out of your device.

How to calibrate battery?

There are two ways. Let's first know how we can do it without root access.

For this you should download and install Current Widget: Battery Monitor app from Play Store. The app shows the mAh level of battery. Just charge your device until you reach the total milliampere amount indicated. After reaching the level unplug the charger and turn off your device and turn it on again. It will show full battery 100% charged. Your tablet is successfully calibrated.

Another method is time consuming, but if above method does not work, you should try this or just try with rooted device option. Turn your tab on and charge it for 8 to 10 hours. After charging it, turn it off by unplugging it. Again, charge it for some hours (1-2 hours). Now unplug charger and turn it on and wait for some time. Again turn it off and charge it for an hour. Now you can use your tab by turning it on. Now battery life should be a lot better.

Now let's discuss how we can do it with root access. This method is quite simple and fast. You have to root your device first. Now download Battery Calibration app by NeMa from play store. The app comes free. Now when the battery drains say up to 15% plug it and charge until it shows 100% battery. Open Battery Calibration app and press 'Battery Calibration button'. You can now unplug your tab and use it.
